The Running of the Bulls — Pamplona 2026

Every July, Pamplona hosts one of the world's most iconic festivals. The encierro — the bull run — takes place every morning from July 7 to 14 at 8:00 AM, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the globe.

About the Encierro (Bull Run)

The encierro is the centrepiece of the San Fermín festival. Six bulls and six steers are released each morning and run approximately 875 metres through the narrow cobblestone streets of Pamplona's Old Town to the bullring (Plaza de Toros). The run lasts between 2 and 5 minutes — but the adrenaline lasts a lifetime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Running of the Bulls — your questions answered

Planning a trip to Pamplona for San Fermín for the first time? Here are the most common questions about accommodation for the Running of the Bulls.

When does the Running of the Bulls take place in 2026? +
The encierro (bull run) takes place every morning from July 7 to July 14, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM. The San Fermín festival officially begins on July 6 with the "chupinazo" — a rocket fired from the Town Hall — and ends on July 14 at midnight with the "pobre de mí" farewell ceremony.
How far in advance should I book accommodation for San Fermín? +
As early as possible — ideally 6 to 12 months in advance. Accommodation in Pamplona during the Running of the Bulls is the most sought-after in Spain during that period. Availability disappears fast, and prices rise sharply as the festival approaches. Don't leave it to the last minute.
Where are the apartments located in relation to the bull run route? +
Our apartments are located a short distance from Pamplona's Old Town. The encierro route runs through the heart of the Casco Viejo, ending at the bullring (Plaza de Toros). From our apartments, you can reach the main viewing points in just a few minutes on foot or by taxi.
Is it possible to watch the encierro from a balcony? +
Some buildings along the encierro route have balconies for rent, but these are extremely limited and very expensive. Our apartments offer comfortable accommodation near the route — you can watch the run from the street enclosures (vallados) or on television. We recommend arriving at the route at least an hour before the 8:00 AM start to find a good spot.
Can I run in the encierro as a foreigner? +
Yes. The encierro is open to anyone aged 18 or over, regardless of nationality. There is no registration required — participants enter the route at designated access points. However, it is strongly recommended to read the official rules and understand the risks before taking part. No running experience with bulls is required, but local knowledge is very useful.
What is included in the apartment for San Fermín? +
All our apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, private bathroom, bed linen and towels, and free WiFi. Optional parking is available in the building at €20/day. We have apartments with 1 to 4 bedrooms — suitable for couples, groups of friends or families.
What is San Fermín Chiquito? +
San Fermín Chiquito (also known as Sanfermines Chicos or San Fermín Txikito) is a smaller version of the festival held in Pamplona in mid-November (usually around November 6–7). It has the atmosphere of San Fermín but with smaller crowds — a great option if you want to experience Pamplona's festive spirit outside of July. Contact us if you'd like to arrange accommodation for this event too.
